    Congratulations to everyone!

I would say that the participants of this event are better programmers than the previous time they joined the event.

We–the participants and attendees–greatly appreciate the support of everyone who participated on this event;)KUDOS! (until next time if God wills it). Ms. Ruth Cortez provided the certificates, Ms. Christine Salve offered intermission numbers before the awarding ceremonies, we also acknowledge the help of Maam Chin-chin Laguinto for allowing us to continue this event, Bro. Eli Soriano and Bro. Daniel Razon for the resources, guidance, and many more things. And most specially to the Almighty God, the Maker of heaven and earth, the Provider of all things.

Here are the results of the contest:

First Place (and Best Programming Team): (Kathlene, Anthony, Rosen)

Second Place: (Erlyn, Abel, Rea, Rose)

Third Place: (JR, Elmer, Mark, Tristan)

    ——————————————————————-

Best Programmer (1st Year): Anthony de Leon

Best Programmer (2nd Year): Kathlene Claudel && Erlyn Riddle

    Notes for the programmers:

    • Please do analyze the problem carefully
    • Avoid “hard-coded” stuff, write dynamic codes
    • Keep on learning…
    • Stay focused to your MISSION / objective / endeavor…
      • You are the Master and Captain of your soul because you can control your thoughts…

May the 3rd LVCC CPC be more exciting and challenging (and better programmers)…

    To God be the Glory!

    Luke 21:13-15

And it shall turn to you for a testimony.
Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer:
For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.

The testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ is VERY CLEAR.

The prophets of God are the Speakers of God, no one can refute them. No matter how educated a person could be. Because the Spirit of God guides the prophets.

I want to re-post an article here:

On Decrypting 1 Timothy 2:14 and the 10-Minute Peek to Bro. Eli’s Recent Debate (September 3, 200)

Doubling the excitement of last week’s Thanksgiving to God, this week’s celebration of the Members Church of God International (MCGI) brought a new advancement in biblical knowledge and in the Church’s global evangelization efforts.

Before thousands of congregants in the Ang Dating Daan (ADD) Convention Center in Apalit, Pampanga, Bro. Eliseo Soriano, MCGI Presiding Minister and host of the religious program Ang Dating Daan (The Old Path), explained a mystery never before heard regarding the Adam and the woman mentioned in 1 Timothy 2:14. The verse says:

And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.”

In this seemingly simple biblical statement, there is a deep spiritual knowledge embedded, supported by many verses as Bro. Eli proved to the congregation. But unlike in mathematics, wherein experts in different fields can arrive at the same conclusion using various methods, to be able to decipher the mystery in the verse the way Bro. Eli taught the congregation is one that is beyond pure calculations. There must be divine intervention.

“Whenever you read the epistle of Paul,” Bro. Eli said, “put in your mind that there are things he speaks which are hard to understand, especially so when he speaks to Timothy, who is his vice presiding minister.” Bro. Eli cited 2 Peter 3:15-16:

“And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.”

It is fortunate that 2,000 years after the death of the apostles, God sent a preacher who would understand those things hard to be understood in Paul’s epistles. Someone is again asking the right questions and providing the right answers.

To ask if Adam or the woman was deceived or not will not squeeze out the vitamins in 1 Timothy 2:14. The biblical wisdom that shocked the congregation can only be determined by asking the right questions. However, even if one is able to ask the right questions in this particular case, which is already a feat in itself, giving the right answers is not anybody else’s business, but of the preacher sent by God. As Bro. Eli decrypted for the Church of God the wisdom in the verse, the congregation was sent into a wild applause.

“Let us not limit the thinking of Apostle Paul.” Bro. Eli said.

The excitement that spurred from the revelation was equaled only by the unsuspected turns during the same event. After the brethren in Papua New Guinea brought tears of joy to the congregation as they, a few months ago, sang the Tagalog praise song “Ito ang Araw” (This is the Day), the Portuguese-speaking brethren in South America followed suit with “Ang Mga Sugo ng Dios” (The Sent Ones of God). In a dramatic expression of triumph and gratitude, they offered the new song of praise to the God of Israel in Tagalog tongue.

The reason: for letting Bro. Eli reach the western part of the world to preach the Gospel.

To be overjoyed when history repeats itself the way God requires it is nothing short of biblical. In the video presentation of the Portuguese-speaking brethren shown simultaneously in monitoring centers across the globe via satellite, once more the evidence of God’s guidance, mercy and power takes the limelight. As they stirred the heart of the Church, their spirit of humility testified of God’s work, which transcends cultures, colors and languages.

In the Thanksgiving Day also, another interesting turn was Bro. Eli’s report on what happened on the debate, which took place a week earlier, with a Portuguese national, a minister of the Assembly of God. It was not much as to inform the brethren of who won, but how, since the Church believes and had witnessed in so many occasions that the winner is already decided. Luke 21:13-15 says:

“And it shall turn to you for a testimony. Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer: For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.”

In the video shown, a ten-minute segment taken from the 4-hour formal debate, Bro. Eli is seen speaking beside a translator, who translates English to Portuguese. Upon witnessing firsthand a true preacher of God pull down strongholds and cast down erroneous teachings, the brethren, all Portuguese, gave a standing ovation to claim victory. It was their first time to witness it. The glory is all to God.

Members Church of God International holds Thanksgiving Day every Saturday from 7 am to 5 pm. It is a day when members of the Church, along with guests, travel from different provinces to the ADD Convention Center to fulfill their vows to God of offering the sacrifice of thanksgiving. Chapters abroad monitor the event via live video streaming.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our Light, not our Darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you NOT to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightening about shrinking so that other people won’t feel unsure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone. As we let our own Light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

    Love is Real

    by: John Lennon

Love is real, real is love,
    Love is feeling, feeling love,
Love is wanting to be loved.
Love is touch, touch is love,
    Love is reaching, reaching love,
Love is asking to be loved.
    Love is you,
    You and me,
    Love is knowing,
    We can be.
Love is free, free is love,
    Love is living, living love,
Love is needing to be loved.

This song is one of my favorite song way back in my “teen” days…

It was brought back into my conscious mind when Brother Eli Soriano –this saturday, June 27, 2009– said “You can Give without Love, but You can’t Love without giving”.

Yes, its true that one could give without sincerity and compassion, BUT to love is to give (sincerely and compassionately). Its better be done than just saying (encoding) it.

The years that just have passed, is overflowing with the blessings and gifts from Above. Many of my wishes were realized unknowingly. I just saw it was already there. The Almighty God is Really Good. Thanks and Glory be unto HIM . He gave me strength when I am weak. He gave me hope when I was down and hopeless. He gave me everything even though I have none and broke. Heb.13:5

Faith is mysterious, it is powerful; for me it is one of the best motivation to move people from the doldrums.

    A child asks his father:

Where is God? what is He doing there? I want to see Him, can I go there? why the Lord Jesus Christ still need to fetch us to go to heaven? I want to go there now.

What would you feel I you have a child who ask things like that?

    Deuteronomy 8:4

And what nation is there so great, that hath statutes and judgments so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day?

    Hebrews 8:1 – 6

Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man. For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer. For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law: Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount. But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.

God is really a Wise God, in fact the only Wise God. Every person will teach us something, even without words…

    (from http://seminariodelaverdad.blogspot.com/)

BRIEF HISTORY OF STUDENTS OF THE SEMINARIO DE LA VERDAD

It was in the year 2006 when the seminarians batch 2004-2006 have undergone their training in Apalit Central, it was also the year when the announcement about the training of another batch of aspiring workers. It was made known a couple of times in the congregation of the believers of Christ. A kind of training that includes different kind of academic subjects. But the main reason of the course is to be trained in the teachings and ways of life of Christ.

Summer of 2006, many were already preparing their requirements that will be needed by the administrators of the said course (such as personal profiles, N.B.I. clearances, medical records, etc.)

Believers from different places, and different cultures were invited for the interview (personal, psychological, spiritual). It’s like a day of judgment; everyone looks pale and peaceful in meditation or in nervousness.

Forty-four (44) were interviewed and were advised to come back for the results. Not all of them are admitted to be enrolled because of some reasons relative-to-the-applicant; some are responsibility issues, age-in-the-service issue, etc.

Twenty two (22) individuals from different places (four came from the Metro Manila, one from Rizal, one from Apalit Central, and the majority are from Bulacan Division).

August 7 of the same year when they first met each other, and when they attended their first ever class in the said course. They will be trained about the things they would need in the future, May the Lord be with them.

To develop a servant that could adapt to anywhere, any situation and in different kind of aspects will really take time and will really need the Guidance of the Spirit of the Almighty.

The whole class never imagined that they will belong to this kind of serious training, and admitted to themselves that they are worthless. Their hope is the hope which was once uttered by Saint Paul: “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me”.

My Last Farewell (translation adapted from one by Edwin Lozada)
Farewell, beloved Country, treasured region of the sun,
Pearl of the sea of the Orient, our vanquished Eden!
    To you I gladly surrender this melancholy life;
And were it brighter, fresher, gaudier,
Even then I’d give it to you, to you alone would then I give.
In fields of battle, deliriously fighting,
    Others give you their lives, without doubt, without regret;
Where there’s cypress, laurel or lily,
On a plank or open field, in combat or cruel martyrdom,
If the home or country asks, it’s all the same–it matters not.
I die when I see the sky unfurls its colors
    And at last after a cloak of darkness announces the day;
If you need scarlet to tint your dawn,
Paint with my blood, pour it as the moment comes,
And may it be gilded by a reflection of the heaven’s new-born light.
My dreams, even as a child,
My dreams, when a young man in the prime of life,
Were to see you one day, jewel of the eastern seas,
Dry those dark eyes, raise that forehead high,
Without frown, without wrinkle, without stain of shame.
My lifelong dream, my deep burning desire,
Is for this soul that will soon depart to cry out: Salud!
To your health! Oh how beautiful to fall to give you flight,
To die to give you life, to rest under your sky,
And in your enchanted land forever sleep.
If upon my grave one day you may behold,
Amidst the dense grass, a simple lowly flower,
Place it upon your lips, and my soul you’ll kiss,
And on my brow may I feel, under the cold tomb,
The tenderness of your touch, the warmth of your breath.
Let the moon see me in soft and tranquil light,
Let the dawn burst forth its fleeting radiance,
Let the wind moan with its gentle murmur,
And should a bird descend and rest on my cross,
Let it sing its canticle of peace.
Let the burning sun evaporate the rain,
    And with the struggle behind, towards the sky may they turn pure;
Let a friend mourn my early demise,
And in the serene afternoon, when someone prays for me,
O Country, pray that God will also grant me rest!
Pray for all the unfortunate ones who died,
For all who suffered torment unequaled,
For grieving mothers who in bitterness cry,
For orphans and widows, for prisoners in torture,
And for yourself to see your redemption at last.
And when the burial ground is shrouded in dark night,
And there alone, only the departed remain in vigil,
Disturb not their rest, nor their secrets,
And should you hear chords from a zither or harp,
    ‘Tis I, O land beloved, ’tis I, to you I sing !
And when my grave, then by all forgotten,
has not a cross nor stone to mark its place,
Let men plow and with a spade disperse it,
And before my ashes return to nothing,
May they be the dust that carpets your fields.
Then nothing matters, cast me in oblivion.
Your air, your space, your valleys I will cross.
I will be vibrant music to your ears,
Aroma, light, colors, murmur, moan, and song,
Ever echoing the essence of my faith.
Land that I love, sorrow of my sorrows,
Adored Filipinas, hear my last good-bye.
There I leave you all, my parents, my beloved.
I go where there are no slaves, hangmen nor oppressors,
Where faith does not kill, where the one who reigns is God.
Goodbye, dear parents, brother and sisters, fragments of my soul,
Childhood friends in the home now gone,
    Give thanks that I rest from this wearisome day;
    Goodbye, sweet stranger, my friend, my joy;
Farewell, loved ones. To die is to rest.

PAHIMAKAS (translation by Philippine hero, Andrés Bonifacio)
    Pinipintuho kong Bayan ay paalam,
Lupang iniirog ng sikat ng araw,
    mutyang mahalaga sa dagat Silangan,
    kaluwalhatiang sa ami’y pumanaw.
    Masayang sa iyo’y aking idudulot
    ang lanta kong buhay na lubhang malungkot;
maging maringal man at labis alindog
    Saan man mautas ay dikailangan,
    gabahid man dungis niyong kahihiyan.
Sa kabuhayang ko ang laging gunita
    maningas na aking ninanasa-nasa
ay guminhawa ka ang hiyas ng diwa
    pag hingang papanaw ngayong biglang-bigla.
    Ikaw’y guminhawa laking kagandahang
    at dalitin niya payapang panahon.
Bayaan ang ningas ng sikat ng araw
    ula’y pasingawin noong kainitan,
magbalik sa langit ng boong dalisay
kalakip ng aking pagdaing na hiyaw.
Bayaang sino man sa katotang giliw
    tangisang maagang sa buhay pagkitil;
kung tungkol sa akin ay may manalangin
    idalangin, Bayan, yaring pagka himbing.
    Idalanging lahat yaong nangamatay,
    mangagatiis hirap na walang kapantay;
    mga ina naming walang kapalaran
    na inihihibik ay kapighatian.
    Ang mga bao’t pinapangulila,
    ang mga bilanggong nagsisipagdusa;
    dalanginin namang kanilang makita
    ang kalayaan mong, ikagiginhawa.
At kung an madilim na gabing mapanglaw
ay lumaganap na doon sa libinga’t
    tanging mga patay ang nangaglalamay,
    huwag bagabagin ang katahimikan.
    Ang kanyang hiwagay huwag gambalain;
    kaipala’y maringig doon ang taginting,
    lupa’y asarolin at kauyang ikalat.
    Bayang iniirog, sakit niyaring hirap,
    Katagalugang ko pinakaliliyag,
    dinggin mo ang aking pagpapahimakas;
    Ako’y patutungo sa walang busabos,
    walang umiinis at berdugong hayop;
    pananalig doo’y di nakasasalot,
si Bathala lamang dooy haring lubos.
    Paalam, magulang at mga kapatid
    kapilas ng aking kaluluwa’t dibdib
    mga kaibigan bata pang maliit
sa aking tahanan di na masisilip.
    Pag pasasalamat at napahinga rin,
    paalam estranherang kasuyo ko’t aliw,
    paalam sa inyo, mga ginigiliw;
    mamatay ay siyang pagkakagupiling!
    ——————-
    Spanish Translation
    Otros te dan sus vidas sin dudas, sin pesar;
El sitio nada importa, ciprés, laurel o lirio,
Cadalso o campo abierto, combate o cruel martirio,
    Y al fin anuncia el día tras lóbrego capuz;
    Y al cielo tornen puras, con mi clamor en pos;
    Por nuestras pobres madres que gimen su amargura;
Aroma, luz, colores, rumor, canto, gemido,
    Dad gracias que descanso del fatigoso día;
Adiós, dulce extranjera, mi amiga, mi alegría,
Adiós, queridos seres, morir es descansar.

A lyric in one of John Lennon’s song says

    Let’s hope it’s a good one
    Without any fear
War is over, if you want it
    War is over now

I believe that as soon as people want
peace in the world they can have it.
The only trouble is they are not aware
    they can get it.

    John Lennon, 1969

Gandhi said: “An eye for an eye will make us all blind”.

Wikipedia’s Article about War: War is any large scale, violent conflict… they also managed to gather the estimated death tolls…

List of wars by death toll

These figures include deaths of civilians from diseases, famine, atrocities etc. as well as deaths of soldiers in battle.

This is an incomplete list of wars.

    Tired of counting???

I found very nice pictures on the interent

    Love your Enemies

I also found this forum thread: http://www.thebereans.net/forum2/showthread.php?t=39667

Everybody’s talking about peace, but nobody does anything about it in a peaceful way.
It doesn’t help murderers to hang them, it doesn’t help violent people to be violent to them.
    Violence begets violence.
You can’t kill off all the violent people or all the murderers or you’d have to kill off the government.

    John Lennon, 1969

One time in my life, I heard a man named Eli Soriano, that says, “Love begets Love”. His principle in life is to do Good to all men, all the days of his life.Philantrophists

Revolutions made by men established governments, new way of life, new way of thinking, living, loving… and inevitably resulted to anger, revenge, hatred, chaos and war.

I know that someday, the Supreme Being will end this world, and the blessed and the holies will live in a place where evil is found NO MORE.

    Everlasting Peace is Near.

Those verses speaks of loving your enemies, the Lord Jesus Christ as the speaker.

Therefore, any religious organzation that does the opposite thing is not of God!

    (excerpt from http://www.angdatingdaan.org/about/about_faq.htm)

Ang Dating Daan (The Old Path) is a Bible Exposition on-air program by the Philippine-based religious organization, MEMBERS OF THE CHURCH OF GOD INTERNATIONAL. Its primary objective is to promote and encourage the careful reading and understanding of the untarnished Gospel of Christ in the Bible.

Hosted by the only sensible and sincere evangelist, Bro. Eli Soriano, the program highlights exposés and the study of truths based on the Bible.

By engaging in truthful and sensible exposition of the corrupt ways and wicked practices in the religious world, the program became an eye-opener to many people who are being unwittingly deceived by wealth-conscious pastors and preachers…

For some, he is a simple guy, could even be their enemy, but for me, Brother Eli Soriano is the Preacher, living today, that preaches the TRUE GOSPEL.

Somewhere in this world we are living in, a man who is guided by the Holy Spirit of God, Bro. Eli Soriano, sincerely and courageously preaching the Word of God.

He preaches the Doctrines of the Lord Jesus Christ without omission or any addition, giving hope to the hopeless, making lives a meanigful life to live, sharing everything he have to everyone , and most of all, making people understand the real meaning of serving God, the real way of living, thinking, and every act a Christian should act, with the help of the Almighty God. He labors for the sake of the lost souls, that those souls be brought to God and away from evil.

If man is a plant, the plant needs good supply of care and life from it’s Owner. Plants need water, Good Water, for it to grow strong and stable, whatever thing comes, even how strong winds and rainstorms occur, that plant will hold on to its Foundation, looking up and trusting the One who gives life.

Days passed by, and different emotional moments, and arduous work and tasks have challenged and molded the group’s commitment, with the help of the Almighty, the Group One will witness that day, another Good Day, an opportunity to Praise and Offer Thanksgiving to the One who owns everything. Praises and Glory be to HIM.

  • Another Earth-Like Planet ?

romacknatividad 12:13 am on April 30, 2007 Permalink | Reply

Undeniably, modern technology have showed us how vast the universe is, and makes us wonder what could be the reason of this vastness, every galaxy, every planet is distant to each other, could it be possible that there is another planet wherein creatures like us could dwell? are we alone?

Scientists all over the world have not yet reached the point wherein they could prove to all mankind that there is an earth-like planet out there, until they have made this discovery, 2 light-years away, they said they have made a discovery.

A man named Eliseo F. Soriano comments about this emerging scientific discovery.
